Start with the platform you used to save. A missing item on another app is not the first proof that the save failed.
This page covers iOS share and the Web Clipper. It is not an Android share guide.
Before you start
Know which path you used:
- iOS: the system share sheet, then Aside
- Web: the
+ Asidebookmark, after installing from Aside Web Clipper
If you have not saved yet, use Save from the iOS share sheet or Save with the Web Clipper.
Shortest path
- Stay on the same device and app you saved with.
- Match the stall to one of the three cases below.
- Retry once after the fix.
- Confirm the item in that same app's list.
Do not switch platforms to "check sync" until the original list has had a chance to show the item.
What you should see
A successful iOS save closes the Aside sheet and then shows the item in the iOS list. A successful Clipper save closes the small window and then shows the page in the Web workspace list.
If that is already true, you are done. The rest of this page is only for the stall.
If it fails
Aside is not in the iOS share sheet
The share never reaches Aside, so nothing is stored.
Scroll the app row, tap More, and enable Aside. Open Aside once from the Home Screen if it still does not appear, then share again from the original app.
This is an iOS setting. It will not be fixed by installing the Web Clipper.
The Web Clipper is blocked
The bookmark does nothing, or the small save window never opens.
- Re-copy the code from Aside Web Clipper while signed in, and confirm the bookmark URL still starts with
javascript:. - Allow pop-ups for Aside. A blocked window means the page was not saved.
- Use a desktop browser. The Clipper is a bookmarklet, not an iOS or Android control.
Paste the code only into a bookmark URL. Do not add it as a link on a page.
You saved, but the item is not there
First look in the same place you saved:
- iOS: open Aside on the same iPhone or iPad. After Save, the sheet closes on purpose. Look in the list, not for a success page.
- Web: open Aside Web while signed in. If the small window never appeared, the Clipper did not save.
If the list is empty, save a clearer item — a single Safari page or a photo you can recognize. If you used Cancel, or the browser stripped javascript:, there was no save to find.
Platform limits
- iOS share and the Web Clipper are different paths. Fix the one you actually used.
- Android share is a separate system action and is not documented on this page. For a first Android save, see Save your first item.
- Web cannot offer a share sheet. iOS and Android cannot run this Clipper.
- Finding the item on another platform is not the acceptance check for this capture.
Next: Save from the iOS share sheet or Save with the Web Clipper.
