The first item should be small. Use a page, note, photo, or file that is easy to recognize later.
Save on the platform you already chose. The steps below are not interchangeable.
On iOS
- Open the app that contains the item you want to save.
- Tap the system share button.
- Choose Aside from the share sheet.
- Confirm the save if the Aside sheet asks you to.
- Open Aside and look for the item in your list.
If Aside does not appear in the share sheet, scroll the app list, tap More, and enable Aside.
On Android
- Open the app that contains the item you want to save.
- Use the Android share action.
- Choose Aside.
- Confirm the save if prompted.
- Open Aside and look for the item in your list.
Android share is not an iOS share sheet with a different icon. If a label or screen looks unfamiliar, stay on the Android share action rather than switching apps.
On the Web
Open Aside Web. Sign in if asked.
Use the Web workspace to review and organize items that are already on your shelf. To save a page from the desktop browser, install the Web Clipper. Web has no mobile share sheet.
What to check
After saving, confirm three things on the same platform:
- the item title or preview is recognizable
- the source opens when available
- the item can be added to a collection or tagged
You do not need to organize everything immediately. The first goal is to prove that the item reached your shelf.
If it did not appear
- iOS: Aside may be hidden in the share sheet until you enable it under More.
- Android: pick Aside from the Android share action; do not wait for an iOS-style sheet.
- Web: the Clipper only works after you sign in, and only in the browser. It will not capture an item that is still inside a mobile app.
