Aside is a personal content shelf for saving links, text, photos, files, and notes, then organizing them into collections when you are ready.
Web, iOS, and Android all run Aside. They are not the same app. Start with the platform that matches where the content appears, then save one item.
1. Open the entry you will actually use
Use Aside Web when you want a larger workspace for reviewing items and organizing collections.
Use a mobile app when you want to save from other apps:
You do not need every app before the first save. If you are unsure which one fits, read Choose a platform.
2. Save one item the way that platform allows
Start with something simple: a web page, a short text note, a photo, or a file. Saving first is enough. You can organize later.
- Web: sign in if asked, then save pages with the Web Clipper. The Web workspace is for reviewing and organizing, not a mobile share sheet.
- iOS: open the other app, use the system share sheet, and choose Aside.
- Android: open the other app, use the Android share action, and choose Aside. Do not look for iOS controls.
3. Confirm it landed
Open Aside on the same platform and find the item in your list. If you cannot recognize the title or preview, save a clearer item before organizing.
4. Organize when you have context
After an item is saved, return to Aside to:
- review the item
- add tags
- add it to a collection
- open the original source when available
Web is the larger organize workspace. iOS and Android can also browse and organize, but their screens are not a copy of Web.
5. Keep it private first
Aside is a private-first product space. Keep items and collections for yourself while they are unfinished. Sharing remains a later decision, not a required next step.
